No child should
walk through
grief alone.

A place to remember. A place to belong. Camp Qay’tl’et surrounds Indigenous youth with culture, community, and care as they move through grief.

Our story

Grief is personal.
Healing can be shared.

Camp Qay’tl’et, lovingly called Camp Q, serves Indigenous youth ages 6–17 in Coast Salish territory. We create opportunities for young people to remember loved ones, express feelings, and strengthen their connection to culture and community.

Elders, cultural mentors, therapists, and caring staff help hold a space where youth can feel the strength of those beside them.

“You do not have to carry this alone.”

The message at the heart of Camp Q.

Connection in the moments
we share.

01 / Culture

Teachings we carry

Traditional plant activities, including Devil’s club harvesting and salve preparation, offer opportunities to connect with cultural teachings and caring mentors.

02 / Community

A place to belong

Singing, drumming, and dancing with canoe families bring youth into shared experiences of connection, relationships, and community.

03 / Remembrance

Room for love and grief

Age-appropriate grief support and honoring ceremony create space to remember loved ones, share feelings, and experience support alongside peers.
